Water start up

There are questions on when the water will start. Don't look for water until after the 10th of May. The ditches are still very wet and the ditch work is going very slow. There is still snow and ice in the upper end of the system and it will probably be there for a while. We have started cutting willows and spraying them. Lemon has added 700 acre feet in the last 17 days so run off has not started.

2011 Water Turn off Date
8.15.2011 - The Florida Ditch Companies received a grant for $1,000,000.00 to line the ditch to reduce seepage loss. Construction on this project will be starting on Sept. 15, 2011. The water in the ditch will be turned off the morning of September 15, 2011 to facilitate this construction. We are hoping this project will result in a savings of 2300 Acre Feet of water per year and will help give you more water in dry years.
